John Williams

John is a seasoned construction leader who joined the industry and Team Opus in 1985. He has vast experience across all sectors, including over five million industrial square feet, over five million office square feet, over 15,000 stalls in structured parking and over 1,000 multifamily units.

Project highlights of John’s career include large projects such as American Express Financial Advisors, Best Buy Corporate Campus, Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management and Excelsior Crossings, and industrial projects such as Renewal by Andersen Value Add Center and Expansion, Spectro Alloys Billet Expansion, Golden Triangle and the Motion Industries tenant improvement, Cherne Industries HQ and Polaris Distribution Center.

John possesses strong listening, problem solving and analytical thinking skills – he can quickly understand and even anticipate a client’s needs. He brings tremendous value to each phase and challenge projects present by looking at things through a different lens, evaluating options and providing alternatives with pros and cons early on, so clients can make informed decisions.

Leveraging his broad experience and deep understanding of our design-build model, John enjoys mentoring the next generation of Team Opus, including many current and up-and-coming leaders. He has an open door and is always willing to help or answer a question, working with associates in a way that allows them to truly learn.

John is considered a best-in-class project manager, who elevates every project and associate through his understanding of our organization, model and value proposition. When delivering projects John is very organized, detail oriented and ensures that the project team delivers efficiently.

Outside of work, John enjoys playing golf and basketball, home improvement projects and spending time with family.
