  • Oversees design teams with technical coordination through all design phases of the project, including specification and life safety review and documentation

Experience

Steve joined the industry in 1991 and has been on our team since 1998. His extensive background and attention to detail allows him to prioritize project schedules and communicate effectively with clients. This provides transparency and reduces unforeseen design costs that may not be accounted for in a project cost model.

Demonstrating both his leadership and problem-solving skills, Steve helped develop (what is now knowns as) our Field Integrated Design (FID). Advocating for field associates to advise the designers on our construction techniques, a diverse group of associates, including architects, engineers, project management, field construction and real estate came together to define this process. FID is a guide for all new projects that engages our field staff early and throughout the design process providing oversight on the construction process and identifying challenging details early in the design process, delivering a better project.

Steve's vast experience includes over 20 multifamily projects ranging from high and mid-rise condominiums to market-rate apartments for mixed-use and student living, including Verve (Denver, CO); The Glenn at The Jones District (Centennial, CO); and VELO and 365 Nicollet in Minneapolis. Additionally, his project experience includes extensive work in both small and large speculative and build-to-suit industrial buildings throughout the country, totaling more than eight million square feet, including; BAE Systems Research and Development (Maple Grove, MN), Spectro Alloys (Rosemount, MN), Nissan Parts (Mt. Juliet, TN), Amerisource Bergen (Shakopee, MN), Charter Communications (Denver, CO) and North Star Sheets (Cottage Grove, MN).

When away from the office, Steve's hobbies and interests include cooking, particularly on his Traeger Smoker, open water and ice fishing, DIY Home remodeling projects and serving as a neighborhood volunteer.
