18th Annual Opus Cup Raises Money for SAVE

Along with the Opus Foundation, we presented $20,625 to the suicide awareness nonprofit.

After 18 years, the Opus Cup, our annual hockey game that pairs real estate brokers and Opus associates in a friendly rivalry, has raised more than $200,000 for local charities.

We were proud to support Suicide Awareness Voices for Education (SAVE), in memory of Drake Shaver. SAVE is a nonprofit organization working at the international, national, state and local levels to prevent suicide using a public health model in suicide prevention; concentrating its efforts on education and awareness. With proceeds from the event and a grant from the Opus Foundation®, we presented $20,625 to SAVE.

This year, Team Shaver, coached by Tom Shaver of Inland Development Properties (taking Wade Lau’s place), beat Team Jet, coached by Jim Jetland of Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq. To date, Team Jet has 11 wins, and Team Lau has seven wins under its belt.
