Celebrating Our 8th Annual Founder’s Day

| Blog Post

Associates across the company spent a day volunteering to honor the signing of Gerry Rauenhorst’s first contract.

Since 2012, we have honored our origins by hosting a company-wide volunteer day. Founder's Day commemorates the day Gerry Rauenhorst signed the first contract for Rauenhorst Construction Co. Associates across the company volunteer with local affiliates of Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity.

Chicago

Volunteering with Rebuilding Together in Palatine, Ill., the group worked on a building unit that housed several children with disabilities. They painted, spackled, spread mulch, painted planters boxes and reorganized the furniture back into place. Had fun as we always do.

Denver

Our mile-high team members volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.

Des Moines

The Des Moines crew added siding and trim to the exterior of a new house for Habitat for Humanity.

Indianapolis

Working with Habitat for Humanity, Team Opus set roof trusses and installed roof decking on the exterior and installed drywall blocking and prepped for windows on the interior of the home.

Minneapolis

The Minneapolis group worked at eight Habitat for Humanity sites and three Rebuilding Together sites.

Phoenix

Phoenix associates volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Central Arizona in Peoria.

St. Louis & Kansas City

The two Missouri offices celebrated Founder's Day together again. This year they worked at the ReStore in Kansas City.
