At Opus, we not only build buildings, we build communities. Our commitment to building community goes beyond the structures we create and extends to our support of nonprofit organizations who also build community through the work they do. At the groundbreaking celebration for 365 Nicollet, we were proud to be able to recognize two local nonprofits we’ve had the opportunity to support recently through the Opus Foundation.
East Side Neighborhood Services was founded in 1915 with a mission of fostering the healthy development and well-being of individuals and families while strengthening a diverse community. The Opus Foundation has awarded East Side Neighborhood Services with a $20,000 grant to support the second year of FutureConnect, a career and post-secondary readiness program for youth in grades 10 – 12. Our Foundation was also able to support year one of this program last year, so we’re happy to continue our support of this great organization in its second year.
YouthLink was founded in 1974, with a mission to create meaningful and healthy relationships with youth and the community so that the doors of opportunity are opened to a future of empowerment and self-sufficiency. The Foundation awarded a $50,000 grant to YouthLink in support of their $17.5 million capital campaign to develop a 47-unit, five-story supportive housing complex for youth ages 18 – 23. This facility will be connected to YouthLink’s headquarters in downtown Minneapolis, the host site of Hennepin County’s Opportunity Center.
All of us at Opus are proud to have been able to showcase our continued support of building the wonderful city of Minneapolis, whether it’s with a multifamily development or support of nonprofits making an impact in their communities.
The Opus Foundation is building community for a better tomorrow by supporting projects and programs that make our communities better places to live, work and raise families through grants to nonprofit organizations in the areas of early childhood education, youth development, workforce development, community revitalization and pressing/emerging needs.
