Key Points from the Panel
Mike has overseen the development of many industrial properties, including Rock Creek Logistics Park, a 1.2 million-square-foot speculative building in Joliet, Ill., and 1325 Remington, a 112,000-square-foot spec building in Bolingbrook, Ill. While dramatically different sizes, both projects have a common feature: proximity to the interstate. Of this, Mike said: "In any industrial building, trucking is key and access to highways is crucial."
We're pursuing industrial development opportunities across a number of markets. Even though land can be difficult to acquire in the Chicago market, we'll continue to focus efforts there because it's a top-tier market. (We're also seeing a lot of activity in Indianapolis and Cincinnati, which both have strong industrial markets.)
The article closed with Mike saying "In areas where greenfield properties are available, many times the largest issue is the availability of infrastructure improvements, including sewer, water, power and road infrastructure to support industrial users.
