The Opus Group® (Opus) today announced that construction will begin this spring on a new corporate headquarters and customer service facility for
WorldWide Logistics, a third-party logistics broker providing truckload, less-than-truckload and transportation management services nationwide. Located at 12400 Meredith Drive in the northwest Des Moines suburb of Urbandale, the 76,000-square-foot, two-story building will provide an amenity-rich working environment for the company's growing workforce.
“We're pleased to bring WorldWide Logistics' new modern headquarters to fruition and provide their employees with a highly-desirable work environment," said Noah Brennecke, senior project manager at Opus. “Our knowledge of the Des Moines market, experience in build-to-suit corporate facilities and our fully-integrated design-build approach will enable us to expedite a timely and efficient delivery of this state-of-the art building for WorldWide Logistics."
The new headquarters will provide office space for the company's corporate and customer service center employees, currently located in three separate buildings in the area. Employees will have access to appealing shared amenities, including a café, markets, a coffee shop, an outdoor recreation area, an outdoor grilling and seating area and a quarter-mile lit walking path around a pond.
“We have experienced substantial growth due to the consolidation in our industry and the need for 3PL services," said Tim Annett, president of WorldWide Logistics, one of the country's largest privately held logistics companies based on current employee count and revenue. “With today's tight labor market, the new modern work environment and amenities planned for our new facility will be a competitive advantage for hiring and retaining our talented workforce."
The 22.25-acre site is located one-quarter mile west of Interstate 80/35 and is near many commercial establishments, including retail, restaurants and gas stations.
The project is slated for completion in spring 2023.
Opus is the design-builder, interior designer and architect and structural engineer of record on the project.
