The Opus Group today announced the start of construction on Huntersville Commerce Center, a 131,000-square-foot speculative industrial development at 13601 Reese Blvd. East in Huntersville, N.C.
The nearly 11-acre development is located 12 miles north of Charlotte within the Park at Huntersville, one of the market's most dynamic industrial hubs. Visible and easily accessed from I-77, Huntersville Commerce Center is five miles north of the I-485 full interchange and located near rail terminals, ports and regional and international airports. It will provide space for light industrial, light manufacturing/assembly and distribution users.
The Park at Huntersville is a master-planned complete community for business, health, retail and residences located in one of the nation's fastest growing areas. With comprehensive covenants that ensure only the highest quality development, it is home to many advanced manufacturing and STEM-oriented industrial users such as Daumar, Atom Power, NSI Industries, and Oelikon. The Park and Opus' new Huntersville Commerce Center development offer tenants and their employees unparalleled interstate access and proximity to the popular Lake Norman area.
“Huntersville Commerce Center is the first project for Opus in the Charlotte market," said Mike Stromberg, senior manager of real estate development at Opus. “We are excited to bring this state-of-the-art, Class A industrial building to an already thriving business park in a high-demand area that offers many local amenities and a strong labor pool."
The building has 13 dock doors, expandable to 26, two drive-in doors and 32-foot clear height. It has 11 trailer parking stalls and 130 auto parking stalls. It features enhanced architectural features, clerestory windows and LED lighting with motion activated sensors. Huntersville Commerce Center is slated for completion in December 2024.
Opus is the developer, design-builder, and architect and structural engineer of record on the project. The civil engineer is Orsborn Engineering Group, PA. Justin Smith and Rob Speir of Colliers in Charlotte are marketing the space for lease.
