MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Milwaukee office of Opus Development Corporation (Opus) announced today the completion of a 52,000-square-foot mezzanine addition to Weyco Group, Inc.’s (Weyco) Glendale, Wis., headquarters. The mezzanine was completed on a tight timeline, following Weyco’s acquisition of The Combs Company.
Weyco, a shoe manufacturer, recently acquired The Combs Company, the owner of Bogs and Rafters footwear brands. The space at Weyco’s headquarters was insufficient to store the new product associated with the addition of The Combs Company’s product.
“The schedule was definitely a challenge,” said Jerad Protaskey, Project Manager for Opus Development Corporation. “More than one steel bidder told us the schedule was impossible.”
The delivery date of The Combs Company’s new product was predetermined. Thus, it was an absolute necessity to complete the high-quality product that Opus is known for in an expedited manner.
