Opus Foundation® Awards Over $1.1M in Impact Fund Grants

Committed to building community for a better tomorrow, in December 2022 the Opus Foundation awarded $1,127,200 to 16 impactful nonprofit organizations, supporting community revitalization, early childhood education, youth development and workforce development.

Over the coming weeks, we'll profile two of the impactful organizations who received grants in this round, including:

• Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City
• Freedom for Youth Ministries (Des Moines)

The Foundation is proud to support the following organizations that received Impact Fund and multi-year grants in December:

• Building Futures (St. Louis) for capacity building
• Christopher House (Chicago) for early childhood education kindergarten readiness
• Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines for the Clive Community Foundation Greenbelt Landing Project
• Dougherty Family College (Minneapolis) to expand career services
• Dress for Success Twin Cities (Minneapolis) to launch the Success Express
• Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys for leadership experience expansion and access
• Great River Greening (Minneapolis) for the Future Stewards Youth Program
• Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis for the JA Trades Experience
• MicroGrants (Minneapolis) for education and small business support
• Mile High Youth Corps (Denver) for the YouthBuild Program
• Operation Breakthrough Inc. (Kansas City) for workforce development and entrepreneurship
• Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Phoenix) for the workforce development program expansion
• Urban Boatbuilders (Minneapolis) for the Bridge to Employment
• YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago for mental health support for early education and care

Additionally, from July to December, the Foundation awarded $261,000 with 56 opportunity fund grants. Opportunity fund grants are awarded monthly and are designed to provide a quick response to needs and opportunities in our communities.
