Opus Foundation® Awards more than $100,000 to Milwaukee-Area Organizations

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Milwaukee office of Opus Development Corporation (Opus) and the Opus Foundation today announced grants of more than $100,000 to support ten southeastern Wisconsin nonprofit organizations.

The following grants were awarded through the Foundation’s Opus Opportunity Fund and Opus Impact Fund:
  • $35,000 to Milwaukee Community Service Corps to support the “Design, Construct and Manage for Building Energy Performance Program”
  • $25,000 to Girl Scouts of Southeastern Wisconsin to continue expanding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) programming
  • $25,000 to Rebuilding Together to support programs that address housing needs of older adults and homeowners with disabilities
  • $5,000 to the American Heart Association’s Building Healthy Hearts campaign and Start! Heart Walk that promotes educational programs for elementary students
  • $5,000 to Milwaukee Montessori School to provide financial aid to students
  • $5,000 to Real Estate Alliance for Charity (REACH) to support emergency shelter and case management services for women and families who are experiencing a housing crisis
  • $3,900 to Lutheran Home, Inc. to support training and materials for the Children’s Center
  • $3,000 to Carroll University’s Community Garden, which provides for the Food Pantry of Waukesha County
  • $1,430 to the United Way of Greater Milwaukee in support of Opus Milwaukee employee giving
  • $1,000 to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to provide support to the hungry and to other hunger agencies 

    The Opus Impact Fund supports strategic investments in human and community development and awards grants of $25,000 - $100,000. The Opus Opportunity Fund is designed to meet pressing and emerging needs in Opus communities and provides grants of $1,000 - $5,000.
