We deliver the vast majority of our projects using our unique design-build delivery model – it's not an alternative for us. It's part of our DNA, dating back to the 1960s when Gerry Rauenhorst, who founded the construction business that would evolve into The Opus Group of today, removed the barriers that were the feature of the traditional delivery method.
After a few years operating his business, Gerry had grown impatient and often frustrated with the traditional bidding process, which led to him pioneering the design-build delivery model we use today. In 1961, Gerry began consistently applying the design-build model to major projects.
