The Opus Group® (Opus) has promoted Matthew Visnansky to vice president and general manager, overseeing its Phoenix development team.
In his new role, Visnansky is responsible for advancing development opportunities in all sectors in Arizona. This includes leading the sourcing and pursuit of opportunities, upfront development feasibility studies, financial analysis, due diligence and entitlements for speculative and build-to-suit projects while also providing managerial oversight to teams throughout design, construction and project delivery. He reports to Larry Pobuda, executive vice president of Opus.
“Matt is incredibly thorough in his work and consistently executes at the highest level," Pobuda said. “He is a proven leader who has built strong relationships across project teams, resulting in better outcomes for our clients, our partners, our company and our communities."
Since joining Opus in 2017, Visnansky has led many high-profile industrial projects in the Phoenix market, including the 722,000-square-foot, three-building Fairway 10, two developments in Goodyear – Goodyear Airport and Goodyear Airport 85 – for a combined total of 726,000 square feet of space, and Deer Valley 30, a speculative development addressing demand for industrial space near the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. He also developed Warner Commerce Center in Tempe, and contributed to multifamily projects such as Paradise at P83 in Peoria and Union Tempe on the edge of Arizona State University. He is currently the lead developer for the 335-unit Melody on Main in downtown Mesa, which began welcoming residents in May 2023 and will reach full completion in May 2024.
Prior to joining Opus, Visnansky gained experience in underwriting; portfolio management, analysis and sales; and client service as vice president of commercial real estate with Bank of Arizona and positions at Wells Fargo and BBVA Compass Bank.
Visnansky has a bachelor's degree in marketing with an emphasis in finance from Arizona State University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association.
