The Opus Group (Opus) has promoted
Matt Rauenhorst to president and chief executive officer of Opus Development Company, L.L.C. In his new role, Rauenhorst provides executive leadership and sets overall strategy for all aspects of development across the organization. His responsibilities include business development, directional oversight and leadership of the development teams nationwide as well as Opus' capital markets group.
With nearly 20 years of experience in real estate development, Rauenhorst has been a key member of the Opus team since 2008, earning multiple promotions with increasing responsibility. In 2019, he was promoted to executive vice president and general manager, taking on broad accountability for overall operations in the upper Midwest markets, including Minneapolis, Chicago, Des Moines and Indianapolis. He has developed industrial, multifamily, student living, senior living and office projects across these markets, helping create jobs, fuel economic growth and improve communities. Rauenhorst is also integrally involved with the Opus Foundation, as its board chair, and invested in Opus diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

Prior to joining Opus in 2008, Rauenhorst gained experience in roles with Frauenshuh Corporation and UnitedHealth Group. He succeeds Dave Menke, who recently retired after 28 years at Opus, serving as president and CEO of Opus Development Company, L.L.C. for the past 10 years.
“Dave has been instrumental in the development of some of our most significant office, industrial and residential projects throughout the country," said Murnane. “He also mentored and developed numerous team members throughout Opus and the industry. Dave played an important role in identifying and positioning his successor, Matt, to successfully lead Opus into the future. We sincerely appreciate Dave's exceptional contributions and wish him the very best in his retirement."
Rauenhorst holds a Bachelor of Arts in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas and a Master of Business Administration in real estate and urban land economics from the University of Wisconsin. He is a member of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association; Marsden Holding Board of Directors; Minneapolis Downtown Council's Board of Directors; and Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors.
