The Maven on Broadway, a six-story, 154-unit multifamily development in Rochester, Minn., was named a finalist for Economic Impact in the
Minnesota Brownfields ReScape Awards.
The Maven encompasses all of the attributes of a successful brownfield redevelopment project. It required public and private sector collaboration to turn an under-utilized surface parking lot into a modern, high-quality mixed-use residential/retail development in the urban core of a global medical destination area.
A Contamination Cleanup Grant from Minnesota Employment and Economic Development office facilitated the cleanup of contaminated soils and buried debris to achieve goals of strengthening the local tax base, creating jobs and supporting the City's Destination Medical Center initiative.
