The University of St. Thomas' Tommie North Residence Hall, completed in July 2020, has received a Design-Build institute of America-Upper Midwest Region Excellence Award.

Supporting a growing demand for student housing on the vibrant St. Paul campus, we designed and built the five-story, 210,000-square-foot first-year residence hall. The building includes housing for 480 students on four levels with secured access, study rooms, lounges, common space, and a large laundry room. The first level features amenities open to the entire campus community, including:

  • kitchen and cafeteria with cooking-on-display stations
  • dining area with partitions that open to flex spaces for events
  • two classrooms
  • a clubroom and game room

This project built on our 30-year history with the college.

The Renewal by Andersen Value-Add Center received an Honorable Mention at the awards ceremony. Completed in June 2020, the 350,000-square-foot industrial expansion will help Renewal by Andersen solve a growing need for storage and sequencing of manufacturing work. The building is located in Cottage Grove, Minn.
