Our talented and hard-working associates were recognized with a Best in Show award!

The Opus Group's United Way award

Thanks to our dedicated associates, our 2016 United Way campaign was successful across the entire company. We’re proud of the impact our collective efforts are making to keep building community. That impact was recently recognized in Minneapolis as we were awarded the Greater Twin Cities United Way’s “2016 Best in Show” award (small company category) for the results and creativity of our campaign.

Staffed by talented and driven team members, our United Way campaign committee shared unique ideas and fresh takes on old classics to make this year a success. Just some of our highlights and successes included:

  • Establishing a theme that built off United Way’s national campaign that reinforced the work we do: Investing in Humankind – Brick by Brick. Even our ugly traveling trophy, a human-sized metal sculpture that is moved throughout the building to raise money, was in the spirit with a brick-layer’s glove and trowel.
  • Incentives and stretch goals encouraged donations with 63% of Minneapolis associates pledging.
  • Our on-site volunteer activity benefitted the clients of Perspectives, Inc., our 2016 Building Community Award finalist, with 55 Thanksgiving dinner kits, 144 holiday break food kits for kids who often only get school lunch, and 144 literacy kits to keep kids' minds active over break.
  • We held a day-long bake sale, a thirsty Thursday event and a lunch, in addition to our kick off breakfast and wrap up event.

Stewardship is at the core of our organization and has been a pillar of our history from the beginning. We’re proud to be able to fulfill our stewardship value through various activities throughout the year, and very excited and honored to have our efforts recognized by the Greater Twin Cities United Way!
