Experience
Oscar began his career in 1986 as a member of our team. He has deep experience in industrial and multifamily and projects and has delivered many student living, office, retail and institutional projects as well. In all sectors, he has delivered more than 10 million square feet.
Throughout his career, Oscar has developed and flexed many skills, including collaboration (a cornerstone of our organization), flexibility (there are many ways to solve a problem), problem solving (inherent in the design and construction process because problems will arise) and trustworthiness.
When a project was in jeopardy because the budget wasn’t working with a different architect and general contractor, a commercial broker recommended our team to a client. Oscar and our in-house team of experts met with the client to discuss the project and solve some problems. Within an hour and a half, they had worked out the math on a whiteboard and enabled the project to move forward.
Following the successful completion of that project, Tim Schaffer, Founder and President of Area Real Estate Advisors, said “They’re extraordinary people. Very consistently, even in difficult times where difficult decisions need to be made, Opus always makes the right decision for its clients, and I’ve seen that time and time again.”
Our team competed for the Hallmark build-to-suit in Liberty, Missouri, through an RFP process. Based on the initial proposal, we were one of two developers selected to make a presentation. During the presentation, the team discussed some of the client’s programmatic requirements and offered cost-saving alternatives. Differentiating our team and clarifying the value proposition earned us the business. Despite supply chain challenges, the project was delivered on time.
Away from the office, Oscar enjoys family time at the beach and playing golf and pickleball.
