Responsibilities

  • Directs the sourcing of opportunities and the acquisition, development, leasing and marketing and obtains necessary jurisdictional permits and approvals for projects across multiple sectors
  • Leverages product-type expertise to provide input on real estate development and acquisition business strategy and implements strategy
  • Directs and coordinates the selection, negotiation and purchasing of land in accordance with organizational policy and municipal or governmental regulations
  • Performs market, site feasibility and end-use analysis and coordinates due diligence and financial pro-forma modeling and analysis collaboratively with design-build, architecture and engineering associates
  • Works and negotiates with brokers, clients, communities and other stakeholders to create the right product for the market
  • Coordinates and monitors design, project management and construction activities, including project schedules and budgets, and regularly visits project site
  • Directs and oversees the lease of space within existing and proposed developments
  • Maintains current market knowledge through review of market data and anticipate future trends likely to impact the organization.
  • Provides leadership to real estate development associates and assists with recruiting, supervising, training, motivating and providing performance feedback

Experience

Randy began his career in commercial real estate in 1987 and joined us in 2022. His portfolio includes over 13 million square feet of completed industrial, retail and office projects. He has also contributed to the development of 698 multifamily market-rate rental units. His impact is most found in Colorado and Utah, which include projects such as Cadence Broomfield Senior Living (Broomfield, CO) and Kalaco Apartments (Denver, CO).

He is an experienced industry veteran who has a dedicated work ethic that drives successful results. His vast knowledge, along with his problem-solving skills, is appreciated and noted by clients and business partners alike. On Sun Empire in Aurora, Colorado, the team was presented with a unique opportunity to fund public improvements with the formation of a Metro District and selling bonds to fund these improvements, which is a financial mechanism unique to Colorado. To best serve the client, team and project, Randy invested a significant amount of time to grow his understanding and worked with a legal team and bond consultant to create a strong bond offering for the sale. His efforts and dedication led to a successful outcome in gaining the sale and the client praised him on his smart recommendations.
