Commitment to Collaboration Leads to Longstanding Partnership
As a long-term partner, we have supported the growing business needs of Weyco Group, Inc. since constructing the company’s headquarters in Glendale, Wisconsin, in 1998. The original office project consisted of a 350,000-square-foot facility used for the shoe manufacturer’s office and distribution needs.
In 2011, Weyco acquired The Combs Company, the owner of Bogs and Rafters footwear brands. The addition of two new brands left Weyco with a space insufficient to provide adequate storage.
With the delivery date of the new footwear product predetermined, an immediate solution was needed. Bringing our proven design-build construction process to the table, we worked with the Weyco team to develop a 55,000-square-foot mezzanine addition to its existing space.
A year later, Weyco purchased an additional warehouse facility just south of its existing campus and once again called upon our team to help construct a two-story, 112,000-square-foot structure connecting the two facilities.
The expansion is located in an existing 75-foot wide corridor that separated the buildings and wraps partially along the east side of the purchased building creating a unique T-shape. Connecting the two facilities offered challenging obstacles, including elevation differences of roughly six feet and a utility easement on site, all of which were managed by our experienced industrial construction professionals.
Our project team members have completed two previous projects in support of Weyco's continued business growth:
a 160,000-square-foot building Weyco purchased near the main headquarters facility in 2001
a 276,000-square-foot expansion that connected the two original buildings in 2003
