Health Clinic Designed to Blend into the Community
With 18 exam rooms, minor surgery and procedure rooms, imaging facilities and a full-service lab, as well as offices, conference rooms and patient education areas, this clinic for Columbia St. Mary’s was designed with a unique German-style red shingled roof to complement the character of the village of Germantown.
Incorporating familiar residential forms, the geometry of the exterior design conveys a comfortable non-institutional feel for patients and the residential neighborhood it sits in.
Developed with input from client focus groups, the interior includes sky-lit patient waiting areas in the center of the building, creating a short walk to exam rooms and supporting care facilities while making the operation of the facility more efficient for staff.
