Hewlett-Packard Distribution Center

To supplement Hewlett-Packard's existing warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa, we designed and constructed this 301,000-square-foot industrial warehouse facility adjacent to the current warehouse. An enclosed, heated link was built, attaching the two buildings together for forklift traffic. The connection of the two buildings allowed for a consolidation of Hewlett-Packard's national logistics operations to one central location.

The warehouse serves as a third-party fulfillment site and processes orders for a number of Hewlett-Packard's clients. The facility features:

• space to accommodate more than 42,000 pallet positions
• a wire guidance system to facilitate product movement
• 25 dock positions equipped with levelers, dock locks and shelters
• 7,500 square feet of office space

To accommodate future growth, the built-to-suit facility was designed to allow up to 75,000 square feet of expansion.
