Our community stewardship has been recognized with another honor: the
Minnesota Business Magazine Community Impact Awards Best in Class (medium)!
The
Community Impact Awards honor “businesses, social enterprise organizations, nonprofits, initiatives and individuals making a significant impact on communities in Minnesota". Specifically, the Best in Class award “recognizes for-profit companies for overall excellence in making a substantial and positive impact on Minnesota communities". In recognition of this award, our stewardship efforts are featured in the current issue of
Minnesota Business Magazine.
We've made a great impact; just consider the following highlights of our giving:
- To date, the Opus Foundation® has awarded more than $37 million.
- In addition to winning the 2016 Greater Twin Cities United Way Best in Show (small company), associates have pledged or donated $500,000 since 2011, and the Opus Foundation has provided $584,999 in matching grants to the United Way.
- In 2012 we celebrated our first Founder's Day, which recognizes the day (April 22, 1953) our founder Gerry Rauenhorst signed his first construction contract for Zion Lutheran Church in Olivia, Minn. (his hometown) and honors his enduring legacy of giving.
- In partnership with the Opus Foundation, in 2015 we launched the annual Gerry Rauenhorst Building Community Award to honor our founder's legacy of giving and celebrate the rich history and tradition of our organization. To date, the Opus Foundation has awarded $211,000 to finalists and winners of the Building Community Award.
We were also recently recognized as the
2017 Minnesota Keystone Honored Company, and the Kansas City team was named a
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City Club Champion in 2016.
Community stewardship is at the core of our organization and has been a pillar of our organization's history from the beginning.
