MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Opus Design Build announced today that it has been awarded a contract to construct a 7,000-square-foot addition to the Church of St. Peter in Delano, Minn.
The primary component of the two-story addition will be a multi-purpose banquet facility, which will seat approximately 120 people. The project also includes plans for a new main entrance to the church with an open staircase and an elevator, making the church handicap accessible, as well as new restroom facilities for the parish.
The architecture of the addition will complement the unique brick and masonry of the historic church, which was built in 1913.
“We are thrilled to be working with the Church of St. Peter to meet their specific project requirements,” said John Williams, vice president, Opus Design Build, L.L.C. “Using the design-build delivery method, Opus was able to provide St. Peter’s with a cost-effective way to move this project forward.”
Construction on the project will begin in late May and is scheduled for completion in early September.
